Armchair BEA: Blogging Tips, Blogging Dreams

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway to win one of two copies of The Letter Q AND an “It Gets Better” t-shirt!

I am not the person to go to for blogging advice, especially since I just returned from a five+ month unintended break from blogging. Despite running Bonjour, Cass! for about three years now, I have less posts published than some bloggers who have been posting for a year. I am so far from being prolific that one could call me antilific. (I made that word up. Very creative, I know.)

In my dream world version of my blog, I –

  1. have a co-writer? Or at least someone who wants to read books with me and talk about them and talk through posts, especially when I am incapable of typing anything;
  2. post at least two reviews a week;
  3. have more vlogs, since the few I’ve made amuse me and it’s easier to talk about books than write about them sometimes;
  4. make a gazillion dollars a day and quit my day job.

I think some of these could actually happen, especially number 4. Do you have any magical tips for making all my dreams come true?

    I don’t need a gazillon dollars but if I could spend the day reading, and somehow get paid enough to pay all the bills with a little extra on the side… I would be happy as a clam.

  4. Could you sign me up for #4 too? ;)

  5. I don’t enjoy watching vlogs normally, but I distinctly remember watching one of yours that was really funny. So yes, please do more of those.

    I’d like the gazzilion dollars too, but maybe book blogging isn’t the way to go for that…

  6. I’m down for that last one for sure.

    I’m not a vlog fan. I don’t have time to watch them so I don’t make them. Seems to work in my mind somehow.

    Thanks for participating!

  7. Hahaha! I love your dream goals!!! I’ve contemplated a co-blogger, but I think I like my blog being MINE too much. I am considering getting guest reviewers though! Maybe one or two a month for awhile and see how it works out.

    Loving your dream goals. Posting 2 reviews a week is definitely a goal of mine too.

  9. Woo-hoooo #4! If you make a gazillion dollars, can I have some?
    Vlogs are okay too, I guess :-)

    Happy ABEA!

  10. I tried posting two reviews per week but I read slooow now, and I write reviews days later after I read so schedule pretty much not good with that idea. I like your dream number 4. :D

  11. I think number four is easier to achieve than a lot of people believe, but only a little easier. You visit a blog where the blogging is the income and it all sounds so relaxed until you read their daily schedule. Occasionally I can do two reviews a week, or if I’ve done nothing but read I can post more, but it doesn’t last long.

  12. LOL number 4 is my dream too. If you figure out a way let me know so I can also do it. But I think you do awesome as it is.

  13. I know what you mean! My posting has been so off all year long! I need a co-blogger and a more consistent schedule too. If you ever figure out #4, let us know. . . :-)

  14. Co-writers are awesome, you should absolutely get one. I’m aiming for 2 posts a week now as trying for any higher number was proving impossible, but now it seems that 2 may have been over stretching myself.Add me to the instructional mailing list when you find a way to quit your job through blogging :D
