I haven’t been posting a lot here for the past, oh, year and a half? Writing has been immensely difficult for me in those months and at one point I considered giving up on my blog altogether, and I’m glad I stopped myself.
This week I’ve been keeping an eye on all the BBAW posts and tweets and it really helped me remember just how awesome it is to have a space in the wild of the internet where I can write about books and things and have other people read my writing and talk to me about it. (And, of course, in true BBAW fashion I can go and read what they have to say about other things and continue the conversation.)
I struggled mightily with responding to the interview questions for Tuesday’s post. It took me hours to respond to questions about myself, which is of course one topic I happen to know an awful lot about. It was kind of disheartening, but I did manage to do actually write some things and make sense, so I felt pretty good about it.
Then yesterday I wrote a post that made sense and contained words about a specific book AND managed to make the book sound pretty good. It felt absolutely awesomesauce, especially when I read the comments that came in throughout the day and I realized, “Hey, I CAN do this!”
Now look at me. This post has PARAGRAPHS and I’ve only been writing for like ten minutes. I feel like I should get a horse and buggy and suspenders and travel the country side shilling for BBAW ELIXIR: MAGICAL WRITING RENEWAL!
Thanks for making writing words a whole lot less scary, everyone.

YAY Cass! This is so funny – I used the word awesomesauce in a comment a couple days ago on Jills Fizzy Thoughts blog…. I just love that word
That must be why it was in my head! I definitely read that comment…hahaha. I should probably cite you in this post.
Hey, we knew you could do it! Keep coming back, I miss your posts (please!).
LOL! Does it add to the elixir to know that I named you as one of my most appreciated blogs in the appreciation post?
Absolutely it does! In fact, just you commenting here and helping me realize that Google Reader had somehow disappeared you and you HADN’T stopped blogging like I thought made me super happy!
It’s amazing how strong those writing muscles can become once they’re flexed. Congratulations! Looking forward to reading more of your writing.
Woohoo! I love when things come together to create a return of enthusiasm.
I can relate to your going back and forth about continuing to blog. I’ve been in the same place the last year and a half. BBAW has certainly inspired me.

I may be a newer reader, but I’m so glad you haven’t given up blogging
I don’t think I saw your interview so I’ll have to have a read of it. The pressure and spotlight suddenly put on us can be difficult when it’s kind of sudden. Agreed on the way it can renew you, someone said “refreshed” and it’s a great way of putting it.
Love your new word…describes this week perfectly.
I found so many great blogs and more wonderful books. This was my first time participating.
It is has been a fabulous week. I loved it all.
Stop by my blog if you like to see my Day 3, 4, and 5 responses if you like.

Look at all those paragraphs! I am so impressed!
And also, I hope that means there will be many more paragraphs and posts on the way. I love this post.
Please make me the first stop on your horse and buggy tour. I fizzled early in the week, so I’m needing some of that magical elixir.
You’re back, baby!
yay! And also, you definitely made that book yesterday sound good, I really want to read it!
Cass! It’s good to see you in my feeder again. And also, I’m TOTALLY using “awesomesauce” with my students beginning Monday. Love it!
I’ve missed your post and I’m so glad BBAW managed to take the pressure off a little.
You did very well on the questions on Tuesday, it was fun to read. Glad the writing is getting easier again.
This is the first time that I used the word awesomesauce and I think it’s a great word. Let’s use it more often!
