The day I posted about the unfortunate amount of penguin banning in these our United States just so happened to be the day I took my girlfriend on a birthday trip to the aquarium. To see penguins. And sea lions, which are almost as cute as penguins.
Nothing makes you realize how ridiculous it is to ban a book about penguin love than witnessing first hand, penguins hanging out and cuddling and being cuter than you ever thought possible. How could anyone deny themselves or their children the simple pleasure of seeing penguins being adorbz?
On the other hand, I can see why anti-gay jerks are so worried about same-sex penguin love: if anything is going to bring about equality and acceptance for my people, it’s penguins being gay penguins.
In blogging news, can you believe that there is only one week until the read-a-thon?? I have no idea what books to have on hand, except for Harlan Coben’s Seconds Away, the second book in his Mickey Bolitar series, provided it gets to my library branch in time. I think this time around I’ll go to the main library branch to browse and check out read-a-thon worthy books. Any suggestions?
And the winner of my Banned Books Week Giveaway is…

Sure, the penguins may *seem* all cute and innocent and adorable (well, because they *are*), but when I went to the aquarium there were some, uh, straight exhibitionist penguins getting busy on the very highest, most visible fake rock formation. They took the whole cuddly penguin thing maybe just a step too far… LOL!
Ah, well, I guess the even more super adorable baby penguins have to come from *somewhere*…
….Gross. Ban the hetero penguins! Penguin storks! Penguin storks!
Penguins are awesome.
Here’s to gay penguins!!!!
Aw, penguins!!

BEST LINE EVER!!
Di took me to a penguin encounter for Christmas one year. I got to pet a penguin and was in HEAVEN!!
Ooh, jealous!
Love the penguin photos! What a great way to announce the winner of your giveaway.
All hail the penguins! Seriously, who argues with penguins? And how could I choose any other book but Tango, after seeing this post?
My mom is obsessed with penguins.
I have to agree with everything you’ve said. For some reason I was convinced the readathon was October 21, must have been that last year or something. Will have to plan quickly.
