About the Blog
I began blogging at Bonjour, Cass! in July 2009. I had been unemployed for five months at that point and I was struggling to find a job; needless to say, I had a lot of free time on my hands. I had always been a Reader, but as I began to read en mass, in a way I hadn’t since I was a child, I realized I wanted a place online where I could share my thoughts about the books I was reading with other voracious readers. So, like millions of others, I began a blog.
About Me
When I was 13, I was convinced I was going to end up being either a defense lawyer, the first female president of the United States, or a pop star. Instead, I’m an accountant. What my profession lacks in glamor, power, and intrigue, it makes up for in inspiration…inspiration to read books with far more interesting plots than my day job involves, at least.
I’ve lived in Boston since 2004, after coming here for college. I love the city.
I identify as queer, and this influences both my reading preferences (lots of queer non-fiction/gender studies/LGBTQ fiction) and the focus of this blog.
